What is the Ashgate Hospice Sparkle Night Walk?

Ashgate Hospice’s Sparkle Night Walk  is North Derbyshire’s biggest fundraising event of the year. It is a 10km walk around Chesterfield that will take place on Saturday 22nd June 2024, starting and finishing at Chesterfield Football Club! We are excited to make it even bigger and better in 2024!

How do I sign up to the Sparkle Night Walk?

You can sign up via our website www.ashgatehospice.org.uk/sparkle-night-walk or by calling the Fundraising Team on 01246 567250.

Your entry includes a pink event t-shirt, flashing bunny ears, halfway refreshments, a medal and bacon cob and hot drink at the finish line.

Are children allowed to take part in the Sparkle Night Walk?

Unfortunately, children under 11 are not permitted to take part in this event (this also includes babies in pushchairs). Anyone under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

For those under the age of 11 why not take part in our Superhero Night Walk on Saturday 14th  October

Are dogs able to come along on the night?

Sorry, no dogs except Guide Dogs are permitted at this event due to the large amount of people expected to attend, fireworks, loud music and entertainment.

When/where can I collect my Sparkle T-Shirt?

We will be organising a number of t-shirt collections in May/ June 2024 where you can collect your t-shirt and walker number and buy sparkle merchandise, more information about these will be announced in due course.

Where do I get my bunny ears?

You will collect your bunny ears on the night once you’ve arrived at Chesterfield Football Club.

What is the route?

It is a 10KM walk starting and finishing at Chesterfield Football Club, we look forward to announcing details about the 2024 route in the new year.

Can I stop if I feel like I can’t complete the walk?

Yes, if you feel like you are unable to continue walking,  please inform one of our marshals who can arrange for a support vehicle to come and collect you.

What time does the event finish?

The event will finish once the last walkers have crossed the finish line; this is normally around 12.30am. You should allow between 90-120 minutes to complete the course depending on your walking speed.
